Large Detailed Italian Cast Terracotta Bald Eagle Sculpture with Gilt Finish
About the Item
This large and substantial sculpture is unsigned with respect to the artist, but originated from Italy and dates to approximately 1960 and done in a realistic period style. The sculpture is composed of thick molded terracotta with a gilt finish and depicts a bald eagle with outstretched wings, perched on a formation of rocks. The sculpture is very detailed from all sides with intricate feathers from the head to the wings and tail. The sculpture is signed on the inside "Italy" with some model numbers.
