About the Item

"Lille Abe på Strøget" is a special edition of Kay Bojesen's iconic monkey, crafted in teak wood. This version was created in collaboration with Danish designer Mads Nørgaard, known for his work in fashion and design. Kay Bojesen, famous for his wooden figures, began his career as a silversmith under Georg Jensen, but his most renowned creations are undoubtedly his wooden animals. The little monkey, originally designed in 1951, has become a symbol of Danish design and Bojesen's playful approach to form and function. Known for its simple design, made from teak and limba wood, the figure has been a cherished part of Danish homes for generations. In his interpretation of "Lille Abe på Strøget," Mads Nørgaard has added a modern twist to the timeless design, creating a tribute to both Danish culture and Strøget, one of Copenhagen's most iconic streets. Dimensions: H:18 cm, W:16 cm, D:13 cm.
