About the Item
A fabulous and scarce find, this wonderful large Black Forest Monkey was hand carved circa 1890 with superb quality detail and retaining two glass eyes.
The gong is hooked to the underside of his hands and is silver plated.
A grand and unusual piece in excellent condition (an old repair to one foot, insignificant but mentioned and shown for accuracy). 4 1/2" wide x 6 1/2" deep x 13" tall; the gong having a diameter measuring 5".
