About the Item
Beautiful, extra large, vintage Murano hand blown orange to white and gold flecks Italian art glass horse head / knight chess piece sculpture. Attributed to Master glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini, for the Salviati company. The horse head has an "Ombre" effect, fading from a rich bright orange, all the way to white. It stands on a clear and gold glass disk. The piece is profusely covered in gold leaf throughout. Exceptional sculpture. Midcentury era. Measures 12 1/2" tall x 9" long x 5" wide.
