Pair of 17th Century Carved Sandstone Reclining Lions Originally Part of the


A rare pair of 17th century carved sandstone reclining lions. Attributed to Didrik Blume (active 1630-1668) or Markus Hebel (active ca. 1638-1664) Originally they were part of the main entrance of a Swedish castle which was demolished in the 18th century and thrown in a lake. About 100 years ago they were salvaged and put in the entrance hall of the castle which replaced the old one in the 18th century.
