Pair of Antique Porcelain Chamberlain Worcester Doe and Stag Lying Recumbent

$1,565per set

About

Though deer were frequently shown in porcelain, this is a rare pair of toy deer that were meant to be together and were kept together, in perfect condition, circa 1820. The pair includes a doe and stag in white and gilt, lying on an oval base, marked Chamberlain Worcester in script, 155 New Bond Street London, 1820-1840, each approximately 3 inches long. These porcelain miniature animals were commonly referred to as "toys". This pair can be found in the book English Porcelain Animals of the 19th century, by DG Rice.
