Pair of Life-Size Painted Bronze Parrots

About the Item

Pair of life-size painted bronze parrots Continental, 20th Century Tallest: Height 141cm, width 50cm, depth 50cm Smallest: Height 131cm, width 53cm, depth 50cm Of a very impressive size, this charming pair of painted bronze parrots showcase the skills of 20th century craftsmen. Each parrot perches atop a naturalist base rendered in a dark green shade that acts as a wonderful backdrop for the brighter shades of the birds. The first parrot leans forward with its blue tail high up, while the second proudly sits atop a taller branch. The vibrant shades of yellow, red, and blue further highlight the high quality bronze cast. The various heights of the sculptures add interest to the overall composition. This pair of 20th century sculptures would be a superb addition to both indoor and outdoor spaces. A similar pair of painted bronze parrots sold at Christie’s, London in 2021 for £11,250.
