About the Item
Créé en 1912 par René Guilleré, Primavera est l’atelier d ’art du grand magasin Le Printemps. L’idée était de proposer meubles et objets d’art alliant esthétique contemporaine, qualité et prix raisonnable. Le succès de l’atelier inspire d’autres grands magasins à ouvrir eux aussi des ateliers après la Première Guerre mondiale : La Maîtrise aux Galeries Lafayette et Pomone au Bon Marché. L’atelier participe à de nombreuses manifestations d’art décoratif, notamment pendant l’Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs de 1925. Le pavillon Primavera y est l’un des plus remarqués pour son originalité, marquant ainsi l’histoire du mouvement Art déco.
