French Art Deco sculpture by Irenee Rochard, France, 1920s. Couple of fennecs. Spelter, oxyx and marble. Double patina (one for each fennec). Width : 13.6"(34.5cm), Height : 10.2"(26cm), Depth : 7.1"(18cm). Signed "I.Rochard" on the base and marked "France" on the back of the slamm fennec (see photos).

A fine bronze casted sculpture of a Elephant with a calf, resting on a black Belgium marble base. The bronze has the original olive-brown patina. It is made in France, circa 1930-1940. Signed: Irénée ROCHARD. The sculpture has a beautiful patina and is in good condition. After casting the bronze is finely finished with fine chisels, for the fine details. This chiseling process was an enormously time-consuming job.
Irénée Rochard was born in Villefranche sur Saône France in 1906, In a family of artists: his mother was a painter and his brother became The actor-singer Armand MESTRAL.
