About the Item

Set of three 18th century Italian gold leaf hand-carved wood flower fragments adorned with aurora quartz and each mounted on a calcite optical base. The fragments originally came from a larger decorative structure in a historical church in Italy. The pair was put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she transformed the pieces and the period shows that the Italian fragments are originally 18th century. The natural elements are joined together with the artifacts to create new figurative, organic, and historically significant works of art.
