Taupe-Gray Vintage Owl Sculpture by Cristina Puell, signed on back

About the Item

Taupe-Gray Vintage Owl Sculpture by Cristina Puell, signed on back UPDATE: Due to agreement with 1stDibs, we'll be staying through the end of the year. This is a sculpture with both beauty and personality -- you can have both! It is signed on the back, and has a plate with signature attached to the base front as well. These are hard to find, and it is also difficult to ascertain the materials. We think it might be some sort of cast stone or stone-like material. This would allow for the unique textural work in the piece. However we've seen it called ceramic as well. We just aren't sure. This hard to find sculpture is approximately 5.5 x 5.5 x 3 inches. There is a small area scraped off of the lower left wing area, shown in photo. There also seem to be some spots that look possibly like moisture lines, perhaps from an attempted cleaning. These are not easy to see in the photos but they are visible to our eye in person. Nevertheless, it's a lovely sculpture. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOLLOWS; PLEASE READ THE BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY. ABOUT OUR LISTINGS: -Measurements are approximate and generally represent the approximate widest/longest/highest areas of each item. -Please be aware that the color on your monitor and/or in your environment may look somewhat different than in ours and that glass colors often look deeper on dark backgrounds than they do on light backgrounds. -Please keep in mind that vintage works usually will show evidence of previous ownership, such as scuffing, scratching, and/or other wear such as dulling or marring on base, etc. Buyers of vintage items are presumed to understand and accept such hints of previous ownership. We cannot realistically guarantee perfection since vintage artworks have typically been previously owned. We do however inspect for and describe flaws found. Since we do not offer returns, please message us with concerns or questions if you have any before purchasing an item. We'll be pleased to respond. #owlsculpture #decor #mid-centurymodern #sculptures #animals #animalia #owls #figuralsculpture

In Murano glass work, fine gold dust inside the glass is called gold polveri. Perhaps this term was dropped by Marcolin due to the inclusions being more notable gold flecks rather than gold dust.
