Modest size and great workmanship buffalo sculpture. Anyone who has ever seen an American Buffalo in real life will remember how large and impressive these animals really are. Judging from the body posture of this bison (the more commonly used word for an American buffalo here in Europe), this ancient looking giant is relaxed and enjoying life outside. Whomever handcrafted this work of beauty must have been at the top of his game, because the body posture, but also the overal balance and proportions are so accurate that we immediately knew we had to have it. The perfect proportions and details combined with its perfect patina, makes this the ideal sculpture for sculptural art lovers in general and for wildlife and bison lovers in particular. A much more knowledgable antiques seller than us once learned us that a truly well made sculpture looks great from all angles and (as you can see in our images) that certainly is the case with this rare buffalo as well. We were very surprised to find this top quality bronze sculpture without a maker's mark, because it is way too good not to be signed and because we cannot find another one anywhere in the world we were not able to find out who the sculptor is/was. This striking and practical size bronze (he also makes the perfect desk piece) truly is in mint condition and so is its perfect marble base.
