Vintage Italian Carved Wooden and Silvered Greyhound Dog Sculpture
About the Item
Hand carved near Venice, Italy, circa 1960, this large antique sculpture sits on an integral square red and gilt wooden pillow base; it features a greyhound figure sitting on back legs, its head up at attention as if ready to follow any command given. The canine is further dressed with a silvered and gilt collar around the neck. The work of art is adorned with a silvered patinated finish, very realistic shape and details, and is set on a sturdy base. The Venetian dog sculpture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and could be used to decorate an entry way, or a study. A must have for any animal lover!
