An excellent French early 20th Century Art Nouveau bronze bust of a beautiful young woman waering an off the shoulder blouse. Raised on a slender shaped plinth and signed ?A Caron ?twice with model number '10' stamped ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Height: 17.5 cm Width: 13 cm Depth: 5 cm Condition: Excellent Original Condition Circa: 1900 Materials: Bronze Book Ref: Bronzes of the 19th Century by P Kellberg Foundry: Sèvres SKU: 8685 ABOUT Caron, Alexandre Auguste Alexandre Caron (French, 1857 ~ 1932) Caron was greatly influenced by the dominant spirit of the end of the 19th Century. His works, most of which are mythological or symbolic and small in size, were made up of various prcious materials including silver, gold and bronze. Many were produced in the Sèvres factory. At the Salon des Artistes Francais Caron exhibited from 1894 showing many noteworthy statuettes and winning commendations including an Honourable mention in 1901.

Rodolfo, the writer, falls in love with the seamstress, Mimi, while Marcello, the painter, and Musetta, the singer, are the on-and-off-again couple by their sides. When the four are happy, they spend their time celebrating life and love. However, Mimi is revealed to be very ill, and Rodolfo struggles to come to terms with the fact that she will inevitably die. Rodolfo and Mimi break up, and months later, Musetta discovers Mimi extremely sick and close to death. She brings Mimi to Rodolfo and Marcello's apartment.
