About the Item
Mid-century Afro-American female ceramic sculpture. It's a handcrafted, hand-painted, matte glazed ceramic sculpture with silky turquoise hair and gold decoration, dating back to the 1950s. A truly distinctive, sensual piece. The sculpture is in excellent condition.
Margit Izsépy:
She is a ceramic artist and has been working with ceramics since the 1940s.
With her works, he participated in the 1947 ceramic and 1952 applied arts exhibitions organized in the Ernst Museum. In the 1950s, she worked in the Ceramic Craftsman Foundation and her home workshop. Her best-known works are her African tribal sculptures.
