The revival of Egyptian-inspired design coincides with the discovery of the Rosetta Stone in Egypt by Napoleon's forces, and the subsequent founding of the Louvre's Egyptian Galleries. The decorative arts of the period feature numerous adaptations of Egyptian themes, along with other distinctly Greco-Roman motifs & forms.
