18th century Italian gilded sunray mounted on a blue celesite geode heart and adorned with blue coral. The 18th century gold leaf sunray originally part of a halo or sunburst motif in an artistic depiction in a historic church. It is mounted on the hand-cut and molded celestite geode heart. The piece is inspired by "The Sacred Heart" in Catholic art history which symbolizes God's unconditional love for mankind. Together, the elements create a historically significant, figurative work of old and new.
