19th Century Shop Display Wax Mannequin Figure

About the Item

19th century shop display wax mannequin figure. We share what we love, and we love this rare example of a late 19th century French wax Mannequin figure of a young girl. This example is beautiful and slightly creaky which is why we had to own it. The hands and head are from wax, with glass eyes and hair with eyelashes. The body is made from pine and papier Mache sections. A fully articulated figure displaying its original Victorian lace clothing that include both under garments and a floral dress. The head and hands are detachable, with an inscription at the base of the head and stamped number 10 in the back of the wax neck. Its quite rare to find a complete and untouched example as this, a real collector’s item. Size in inches approx.: H 37”x W 13” x D 7” Condition: Aged Origin: France Age: 1880 - 1900 Completely solid in structure and form, Natural aging across all aged surfaces. Both hands have aged repairs to the fingers as shown, a naturally aged object which has stood the test of time, please expect wear across the body. There are no breaks or losses to this item apart from the fingers as stated. This example has both under garments, socks, wax head dress and lace long dress. The clothing is also worn and torn in section but all present.
