About the Item

A reminder to start a revolution every day! Inspired by the French Revolution, this patinated bronze sculpture depicts the legendary revolutionary Camille Desmoulins giving an impassioned speech at Cafe du Foy. A timeless tribute to the man who gave his life for his cause. Note: Camille Desmoulins (French, 1760-1794) was a journalist and politician who, alongside close friend Georges Danton, played an important role in the French Revolution. He was accused as a Dantonist associate in a political trial by the Revolutionary Tribunal and executed. Note: Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824 – 1887) was a French sculptor and painter who played a significant role in the art scene of the 19th century. He is known for his contributions to academic and realistic sculpture as well as his influence on the development of later art movements. He was skilled at capturing both emotional expression and realistic details in his works.
