20th Century Lidia Selva Le Maschere D'oro Triptych for Luciano Frigerio, 70s

About the Item

Luciano Frigerio was born in Desio in 1928. He completed his technical-administrative studies cultivating two great passions since his adolescence: furniture design and composition for music. The reading of texts and magazines in the field, the assiduous frequentation of prestigious Canturese workshops, where he often met heads of schools such as Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli, transformed his family business into a company that looked to the international market. A staff of technicians helped him realize his dream: furniture as a unique piece, made by combining and adding together all possible materials of excellence. This gave birth to a new style, different and opposed to the industrial production of that era. Over the years, collaboration was born with some famous Italian architects and designers including Franco Albini, Sergio Asti and later Paolo Portoghesi. Luciano Frigerio asked them to design furniture that could be made in the workshop, from handcrafted specifications with the conviction that an architect could also design a piece of furniture as a unique piece and not just for industrial production. This set "Le maschere d'oro triptych" consists of 3 mask sculptures in gold laminated brass plate designed by Lidia Selva and produced by Luciano Frigerio in 70s. Published in: Original catalogue. Good condition, fully original. The dimensions are for each single sculpture. We recommend a wooden crate for shipping as the brass is thin and fragile.
