Andre Beaudin “Lovers” Limited Edition Cubist Style Bronze Sculpture
About the Item
A limited edition bronze sculpture titled Lovers by the French artist Andre Beaudin (1895-1975). Signed and numbered "AB 4/6" to the side of the sculpture, this Cubist style work depicts two figures in an embrace and in a mirrored pose with one knee bent upwards. The sculpture rests on an unattached black stone base.
Andre Beaudin was known as a painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and designer. He was inspired by Cubism and the work of Juan Gris and Henri Matisse. Beaudin attended the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris before joining the French army. His work is currently part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
