Art Deco French Ceramic Sain-Clement Statue Of Charles Lemanceau

About the Item

We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects Beautiful Art Deco ceramic sculpture; it depicts a delicate, ethereal nude maiden lying, a soft veil encircles part of her body; the artifact was produced between 1925 and 1928 in France by the Faiencerie Saint-Clement in Lunévillois; the base bears the name of the artist who made it: Lemanceau. Charles Lemanceau was born in Paris in 1905 and died in Trebeurden in 1980. From 1923 he worked with the Saint-Clement pottery company in Lunevillois for which he produced many of his works with an aesthetic inspired by constructivism and cubism; in 1925 he participated in the "Salon d'Automne" with fellow artists including Raoul Dufy, Le Corbusier, Henri Matisse, Maurice Utrillo, and many others; in 1930 he worked for the French Sainte-Radegonde factory in Tours (Indre-et-Loire) founded in 1887 by Gustave Ash. Lemanceau specialized in sculptures of nudes and stylized animals; he was one of the French artists who best interpreted Art Deco. Saint-Clement was founded in 1758 by Jacques Chambrette of Luneville; the history of earthenware in the Lunévillois region thus dates back to the 18th century, and the objects that are still produced in and around Saint-Clément are the fruit of this long tradition. In 1892, the factories of Lunéville and Saint-Clément joined forces and dominated the French pottery market. Our sculpture, in addition to presenting the characters and engaging workmanship of white ceramics, has balanced and harmonious proportions, very well represented the body of the maiden, slender, full of an elegant and composed grace; overall a refined and elegant object that fits well in any room of the home. Measures width cm.54, depth cm.14, and height cm.32. The statue is in good condition. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, Styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.

Saint Clement Blanche Letalle French Art Deco Vase In Ceramic And Pure Gold
By Saint-Clément, Blanche Letalle
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly invite you to read the entire description, as we strive to provide detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our items. This distinctive and captivating vase stands out for its understated Pompeian red color, admired for its exceptional elegance and plasticity. The body is adorned with linear, refined, stylized stars in relief, embellished with pure gold accents. The pottery used is glazed earthenware, and the glossy finish suggests the use of vitreous glazes to achieve a bright, uniform effect. The gilding on the stars was likely applied using the ceramic lustre technique, where gold is added at a low temperature after the initial firing, resulting in a shiny and durable finish. The vase was crafted in the Art Deco style between 1930 and 1935 at the Saint Clement pottery...
