Art Deco Orientalist Chrome Sculpture Riders on Camels, France 1930s
About the Item
This beautiful French Art Deco chromed metal profile sculpture features Saharan characters, possibly nomads or Touareg (Tuareg,) sitting on camels in amazingly realistic riding action. The heavy-quality metal has a signature on the side. Check the close-up for more information. The signature is not readable. The camels are adorned amazingly with fringing, saddlebags, and other decorative items. The Touareg (Tuareg) men wear the traditional turban. The base is in chromed metal and black lacquer wood finish.
The decorative sculpture is in excellent condition, with no pronounced signs of wear.
Measurements: 16.57 in wide (42 cm) x 3.38 in deep (8.5 cm) x 11.44 in high (29 cm).
