Art Deco Style Bronze Sculpture Of A Dancer After Demetre Chiparus
About the Item
This is an Art Deco Style Bronze Sculpture of a Dancer after Demetre Chiparus. It depicts a bronze sculpture of a dancer in an elegant pose wearing an exotic costume ( the Bedlah ). The costume includes elaborated headdress, jewelry, cape, tight bra and skirt. The sculpture is supported by an Art Deco pentagonal shaped bronze base adorned with triangles that is attached to a rectangular shaped black color marble base. The sculpture is hallmarked D.H.Chiparus in the upper back of the bronze base. This authorized well detailed sculpture reproduction was probably one of the multiple made by Parisian workshops like Edmond Etling &Cie and Les Neveux de J.Lehman after Chiparus sold the reproduction rights to them.
