About the Item

Presenting a captivating and sculptural patinated bronze sundial, a testament to the artistry of Swedish sculptor Sune Rooth (1903-1981). This exceptional piece transcends mere timekeeping, embodying a powerful narrative and a striking aesthetic. At the heart of this sundial stands the figure of Atlas, the Titan condemned to hold the celestial spheres. Rendered in a robust and dynamic form, Atlas supports an openwork globe, its meridians and parallels meticulously delineated.
