About the Item
Masculine and fierce looking viking warrior calling for battle via the large Scandinavian Lur. The base reads:" Resounding lures for battle rallied each hero-son. Strong as bears - brave as eagles, giants sprang up". It was crafted in cast bronze during the 1950s by Danish sculptor and artist Edward Aagaard who were immensely fascinated with Nordic Medical History and Mythology in particular. These sculptures were made on commission for Illum's Bolighus in København", a premium department store in Copenhagen. It signed to its base Edw. Aagaard Denmark. Measurements: H: 21.5, Diameter: 8.5 cm (base).
