About the Item

Bronze sculpture of two women with a child from the 19th century with an inscription on the plaque “Salon 1887”. The three characters depicted in this statue give viewers a feeling of love for life. Two women with characteristic Victoria updo with soft curls are in dark patina bronze. They wear long gown meticulously sculpted by the artist, soft with each fold of the lapel embracing the round, full body of a woman. The woman on the left is gently holding a naked child, her arms are stretched out in front of her bust to supoort the weight of the child. The woman on the right has her arm slightly raised to tease the baby and looked at the baby with affectionat. When looking at the statue, we can undeniably feel the warm love emitting from the two women for the child. The plinth of the statue is supported by a stone base and divided into two parts, one is dark wood and at the lower part is deep red marble. They all create a very harmonious color gradation. From black to brown and red. The foot of the statue uses a round base to create a connection that enhances the soft and flexible beauty of the statue. In addition, it is also signed by the sculptor, but it is indecipherable.
