About the Item

18th/19th century Buddha Statue carved of Alabaster. Burmese Shan Buddha Statue 1800ca, collected in Myanmar Shan State 1998. Legs crossed, the left hand in the lap, and the right hand pointing to the ground with the palm facing inward toward the Buddha. This posture is known as Calling The Earth to Witness, and it is the definition of the moment of enlightenment for the Buddha. The statue is mounted to a plinth based stand. Statue alone is 8 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep by 15 inches high. On the stand measures 10.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep by 20.5 inches tall. A wonderful folk art statue representing peace, compassion and positivity.
