A fine hand carved wooden polychrome Balinese sculpture of Garuda. In Balinese culture, Garuda, a divine creature with an eagle's features and a human body, is venerated as "the lord of all flying creatures" and a powerful symbol of strength and freedom, often depicted alongside the god Vishnu. This sculpture dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and is in good overall condition, with some losses, including paint losses, high point losses, overall fade, shrinkage cracks, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. The outstretched wings can be easily removed for transport. Dimensions: Approximately 25 in H x 24 in W x 14 in D. Ref: 8
