'Cavalier Arabe' (Arab Huntsman on Horseback) After Alfred Barye

About the Item

'Cavalier Arabe' (Arab Huntsman on Horseback) After Alfred Barye Alfred Barye (1839 – 1882) A magnificent 20th-century posthumous casting "Cavalier Arabe" (Arab Huntsman on Horseback) by the renowned sculptor Alfred Barye (1839 – 1882). Born in Paris, France, into the esteemed artistic lineage of his father, Antoine Louis Barye, Alfred carved his own niche in the world of sculpture. Despite residing in the shadow of his renowned father, Alfred's craftsmanship and creativity were unparalleled. This exquisite bronze sculpture captures the essence of Orientalism, depicting an Arab huntsman astride a majestic horse landscape. Standing at an impressive height of 31 inches and measuring 24 inches in width and 14 inches in depth, this piece commands attention and admiration. The sculpture signed with 'Bayre' along with a French foundry mark, further adding to its authenticity and provenance. Resting atop an elegant oval marble base. Weighing between 100 to 150 pounds, this substantial work of art is both imposing and substantial, making it a focal point in any collection or space. Whether displayed in a private residence, corporate setting, or museum, "Cavalier Arabe" serves as a testament to Barye's mastery of the medium.
