Contemporary Limited Edition Mixed Media Sculpture Desert Pillman by Taras Yoom

About the Item

The Yoomoota Universe is a projection of our bodies and minds, representing everything that exists in humanity on a global scale. Yoomoota consists of at least 23 planets, inhabited by various characters. Here you can find planets of emotions, the body, addictions, pleasures, sins, knowledge cravings and childhood. Yoomoota tells a big story through sculptures, paintings, collectible furniture, toys and NFT’s. Pillman is a character who embodies addiction from treatment with medical drugs, pills and antibiotics. This hero isn’t evil by his nature; people make him bad with their intentions to get rid of a weak state of health or any other irritant in the body. Treatment holds much significance in a human’s life, as it can improve its quality. However, people sometimes become addicted to pills due to the lack of education, unawareness and proper medication. A person should know the measure and it is regulated by his education and awareness. Desert Pillman is a nomad who has come to Earth and travels with his assistant, a camel he created to traverse the desert terrain. He is essential in the desert because high-quality medical care is needed there, as the heat adversely affects the health of the residents, leading to hypertension, poor digestive system function, and much more. The camel is made from elements collected by the character Pillman on the Wantland planet.

Mixed-Media Sculpture Dror Karta
By Dror Karta
Located in Palm Springs, CA
A wonderful mixed-media sculpture by the noted Israeli Artist Dror Karta. This sculpture was in a traveling exhibition and is pictured in the book. The exhibition was about Palestinian and Israeli artists, who were given the same bowl to start. This is the actual piece. It is signed as well. It is a ceramic bowl, four glass leaves and lots of little bottles inside loose. The glass leaves are molded into the ceramic base by some kind of white epoxy. The leaves have been repaired at the base with the epoxy and quite a few of the little bottles have damage. There is a small chip on the underside. A brief Bio of the artist follows from the artist's website follows; Biography 1965 Born in Natanya, Israel 1985 Wounded during military service 1988-1992 Study graphic design in "Hadasa-vizo Canada college of design" Haifa, Israel 1994 Opens studio for painting, sculpturing and designing 1998 Moves to Ein-Hod Artist Village, Israel 2001-2003 Lives and works in Amsterdam, NL Group exhibitions 1998 "Shesh-Besh", Pyramid contemporary art gallery, Haifa, Israel 1998 "60 Horse Power", holiday of holidays art...
