Dark & Disturbing Interpretation of 'The Little Mermaid' by Anonymous Danish Art

About the Item

Deconstructing the romantic and nationalistic feelings that Danes and tourists for that matter has for 'The little Mermaid' sculpture by Edvard Eriksen in Copenhagen - comes this rather disturbing and dark interpretation. It was created by an anonymous Danish artist during the 1970s or early 1980s. This 'mermaid' is made from melted rubber and plastic and it is like its counterpart placed on a stone of granite.
