EARLY 19th CENTURY ALLEGORY OF SPRING BRONZE STATUES

About the Item

Elegant lost wax cast bronze statuettes, made in Italy in the early 19th century. The statuettes, one male and one female, have classic references and depict the allegory of spring. In fact, both are sculpted in the act of dancing, and wear the classic peplums as clothing, moved by the movement. The male figurine depicts a young dancer, who embodies the vital energy and joy of spring. You can see his elegance and mastery of movement, with one foot raised and his body in a harmonious pose. The female statuette, however, inspired by the muses of Ancient Greece, conveys a sense of grace and delicate movement. Also in this figurine, the ruffled peplum and raised foot highlight the fluid movement of the dance. Both figurines possess elegance and precision in detail, with attention to the muscles and realistic expressions of the faces. The two figurines are displayed on marble bases. Measurements: HxWxD 55/49 x 17/16 x 13cm.
