EARLY 19th CENTURY BRONZE DIANA'S BUST SCULPTURE

About the Item

Beautiful bust made of lost wax cast bronze, depicting the goddess of hunting Diana. The work recalls the style of classical art, showing the goddess in profile, with her hair gathered in a chignon and adorned with the traditional diadem above her forehead. The half-length sculpture is characterized by a light peplos, while the back side of the statue is partly concave. The sculpture is also placed on a square base, with an octagonal shape and made of black marble with white veins, which gives stability and greater elegance to the work. The artistic mastery in the creation of this work is evident, with careful and realistic details, especially in the physiognomic representation of the goddess and in her dress moved by folds. The bust can be attributed to Italian manufacture from the Empire period and can be dated to the first decades of the 19th century. Measurements: HxWxD 48 x 28 x 24cm.
