Beautifully crafted, large articulated artist’s mannequin made from pine wood, dating from the early 19th century. It features jointed limbs and remains in its original condition, with a richly patinated surface that has developed naturally over time. Denmark, circa 1820–1840. Artist’s mannequins like this were traditionally used by painters and sculptors as poseable models in place of a live sitter.
