Edward Swoboda - Rare complementary pair of Hollywood Regency gem trees on natural green Jadeite bases - fine quality workmanship and details - each tree featuring Turquoise, Tanzanite, Amethyst, California pink Tourmaline and Citrine semi precious gemstone flowers (two of each / each tree) - green jadeite leaves - 18K yellow gold plated (vermeil finish) tree trunks and branches - signed ©SWOBODA on the back of each piece (see photo) - United States (California) - circa 1970's.
Excellent / near mint vintage condition - all original - minor oxidation of the vermeil finish (18K gold plate over base metal) - no loss - no damage - no repairs - signs of age and use.
Size / Dimensions - Medium - 6" (15.2 cm.) Wide x 4" (10.2 cm.) Deep x 5 1/2" (14 cm.) High (Approximate - Each - Over-all).
Edward Swoboda (1917-2013) was a renowned prospector, mineral dealer and mine owner. He was active in the gem trade between 1930 and 1980. Many of the gems used on his trees and jewelry came from his own mine in California.
