'El Cordobes' Large Patinated Terracotta Statue of the Legendary Spanish Matador

Standing 29 inches tall this terracotta statue shows the bullfighter matador 'El Cordobes' (Manuel Benítez Pérez) in a powerful defiant pose. Modeled by hand the statue has been treated with brown, ochre and greenish patina and time and likely retouches has added further character to the work. We have not found any references or images like this sculpture and consider it rather rare.
