Figure of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Ceramic. The image depicts the Virgin Mary in long robes in shades of white and light blue, with gold details on the edges. Her hands are joined in prayer, holding a rosary with beads and a metal cross.
The base is decorated with stones and a small rose on top of the foot, symbolic elements associated with the apparitions of Lourdes. The expression on the face is serene, with delicate features and a gaze looking straight ahead.
Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the Marian invocations attributed to the Virgin Mary and which arose from reports of apparitions witnessed by Saint Bernadette Soubirous, in a grotto in Lourdes, France. They occurred in the year predicted by Our Lady of La Salette, also in France, in 1846, twelve years earlier, and were recognized by the Catholic Church.
