Franz Bergman Cold Painted Viennese Orientalist Bronze Sculpture Arab Musicians

About the Item

Franz Bergman (Austrian, 1861-1936) Cold Painted Viennese Bronze Sculpture, with Bergman foundry impressed Bergman hallmark mark to base, along with NAM GRAB (BERGMAN in reverse). Arab musicians on carpet. Franz Xaver Bergman (1861–1936) was an Austrian sculptor known for his detailed and often whimsical bronze works. He specialized in creating cold-painted bronze statuettes, which typically depicted animals, oriental subjects, and erotic figures. His works were characterized by their vibrant colors and intricate details, achieved through a meticulous cold-painting technique. Bergman operated a foundry in Vienna, where many of his notable works were produced. His sculptures are often signed with a pseudonym, such as "Nam Greb" (a reversal of "Bergman"), to differentiate his more risqué pieces from his other works. Bergman's sculptures remain highly collectible and are celebrated for their artistic quality and historical significance. From a private collection Free international shipping.
