A superb and high quality French 19th Century Louis XVI st. ormolu statue of a lady sitting by the sea, signed by Mathurin Moreau. The beautiful statue is raised by a circular mottled band and a wonderfully executed rocklike design with fine flowers. The beautiful maiden is sitting on the rock, dressed in an elegant flowing dress. She moves her hair back to seemingly listen to the soothing sound of the ocean. Superb proportions and attention to detail.
