French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Bronze, Ormolu and Marble Statue

About the Item

A high quality and most charming French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, ormolu and white Carrara marble statue signed Lemire. The statue is raised by an oval white Carrara marble base with a bottom ormolu fillet and a decorative beaded band. The famous model depicts a finely detailed winged cherub stringing his bow. He sits on a tree trunk draped in fabric while holding his Fine ormolu bow with his ormolu quiver at his feet. All original gilt and patina throughout.
