French 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Marble Statue

About the Item

A stunning and extremely high quality French 19th century Neo-Classical st. white Carrara marble statue titled Not Wanting To Hear Love. The statue is raised by a oblong base with a fine ground design with a large rock draped in a wonderfully executed fabric. The finely detailed young winged cherub, likely Cupid, peers around the side of the rock holding his ormolu arrow behind him while intently looking up at the beautiful richly sculpted maiden wearing her hair in an updo and holding a hand to her ear seemingly to block sound. French Title: Ne Veux Pas Entendre l'Amour Italian Title: Non voglio sentire l'amore.
