French 19th Century Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Statue Titled "Retour De Pêche"

About the Item

An exceptional French 19th century ormolu and patinated bronze statue titled "Retour de Pêche", signed Kossowski and stamped "Societé des Bronzes de Paris". The wonderfully executed statue is raised by an elegant circular mottled ormolu base with a fine plaque at the front inscribed "Retour de Pêche Salon Des Beaux-Arts". Above is the beautiful maiden standing on the ground designed base. She is returning from her daily fishing with her richly chased and finely detailed fishing net over her shoulder and a basket filled with fish under her arm. All original rich patina throughout.
