A large metal sculpture of a Native American man riding a galloping horse. Entitled "Indien au Lasso" by Antoine Bofill (1875-1939) a Spanish sculptor who lived and worked in Paris. Made of cast soft metal, well executed with fine details and beautiful patina. Marble base. Signed Conill lower left near horse's hoof. Weight: 43 lbs. Please refer to photos for more details. Antoine Bofill
Antoine Bofill was born in Barcelona in 1875. He studied at the Fine Art Academy in Barcelona. He exhibited in Spain, Germany and Austria as well as in France. Bofill started exhibiting at the Paris Salon from 1894 and in 1902, he was awarded an honorable mention.
