About the Item
A Louis Auguste Joseph Bertrand, French terracotta sculpture of a baby holding a question mark symbol, Titled "Le Point d'interrogation" signed "Louis Bertrand" and dated "3. 1931" The sculpture measures 8 1/8"-inches high x 3 1/4"-inches on a circular base.
Born in Rodez (Aveyron), a pupil of Thomas and Injalbert, first exhibited at the salon of 1893 and continued to do so until 1925, when he became a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais and was no longer eligible.
Three works are included in the collection of Musee Denys-Puech, Rodez. Ref: Benezit.
