The Spanish Dance, depicting the dance of a Spanish couple wearing Spanish garments:
The tiptoeing lady - she is wearing high heels - makes a large step being supported by man who is situated behind her, making a large step, too / both are looking fondly to each other (the woman is of slight coquettish impression) / the figurines are slim as well as very handsome / finest painting & modelling / both figurines are based on oblong greyish-cream white socle.

Josef Lorenzl
Josef Lorenzl was born in Vienna on 1st September 1892. He started out working at the Vienna Arsenal in the foundry, where he learned the techniques of bronze casting. Working from a studio in the company’s grounds, he was able to produce many bronze and chryselephantine sculptures. Lorenzl was captivated by the female form he became well known for his shapely dancing girls with long, elegant legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl also was a gifted ceramicist, producing pieces for Goldscheider.

Depiction of a dancer in Spanish costume: she wears a mantilla, a veil cloth that covers the head and neck down to the shoulders. Often, as here, a high comb is also tucked underneath, the peineta. The cloth is still worn today for festive costumes and is mostly made in lace technique. In addition, the dancer wears an elaborately decorated with floral patterns asymmetrical ruffled skirt.
On oval, black-beige marbled base in rare execution.
This figure also exists as a group 'Spanish Dance' with dance partner,
