Grand Tour Bronze Sculpture of Vendome Column
About the Item
Our 19th century Grand Tour bronze of the the Colonne Vendôme (Vendome Column) measures 10 3/8 inches tall. The original was installed at Place Vendome in Paris in 1810. It was modeled after Trajan's Column to celebrate Napoleon's victory at Austerlitz and features a veneer of 425 spiraling bas-relief bronze plates and is surmounted by a statue of Napoleon by Antoine-Denis Chaudet.
