About the Item

Head sculpture, Franz Hagenauer, Werkstatte Hagenauer Wien, late 1970s, marked Beginning in the 1970s, and inspired by his contact with students at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Franz Hagenauer experimented with new techniques. Among the most impressive works from this period are these character heads either produced as a pair or as a single piece. They were hammered or sometimes made of sheet metal and tubes. This type of depiction is absolutely unique and was masterfully conceptualized by Franz Hagenauer. Technique and material: nickel-plated brass, cast, soldered, nickel-plated and polished marked ,,wHw" in the circle, "HAGENAUER/WIEN" and "FRANZ" (under the plinth) and "FRANZ", "wHW" in the cirlce and "HAGENAUER/WIEN" (at the base)
