Large bronze with a brown patina by Edouard Drouot (1859-1945). This French sculptor is known for his sculptures of mythical scenes, characterized by a sense of movement and an impressive expressive touch. "Allegory of Poetry" is a work inspired by ancient sculptures depicting a nude man dressed in animal skin and gladiator sandals. A scarf traps his curly hair, highlighting his serious face, whose downcast eyes are fixed on a large tablet adorned with a laurel wreath. In his right hand, he holds a stylus. His raised arm seems to be gathering momentum. His posture is haughty, and his body is muscular.
