A stunning and most charming Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of young courtship. The romantic statue is raised by a circular base with a fine ground design where the lovers are standing with a sheaf at their feet. The beautiful young maiden is dressed in a wonderfully executed flowing dress and a shawl tied around her shoulders with charming flowers and is holding the bottom of her dress lifting it off the ground. The handsome young man is wearing rolled up trousers with a tucked in flowing shirt with one hand on his chest professing his love and with his arm wrapped around her while holding hands with intertwining fingers. Exquisite attention to detail throughout.
